The phenomenon of Facebook is it really all that. This class has finally broken me down to join and see what the hype is about Facebook. As I am truly being exposed to the various sites I have and have not heard of. The Social Networking is becoming more popular. I remember hearing about Facebook a few years ago when it became an issue about keeping teens safe. Then another year there was news about students posting pictures and videos on their page and that it would come back to haunt them when they were applying for jobs because now future employers are checking potential employees Facebook and My Space pages. Most students don't think of the future when they are posting these types of items they are just posting for fun.
As I see this is a great tool to keep in touch with friends, family, etc as educator I don't
see this as being a tool that can be use in the classroom. The article that was posted for
us to read where the teacher wanted to make everyone a friend was definitely not a good
idea. There are many other options to construct the type of platform he was seeking for
results with his class.
