The introduction to this topic for our class is very intersting. Before this posting on our class web I had no idea that there was a difference. Side note I'm learning so much in this class and being exposed to technology that I didn't even know existed.
The three links that we were given to view the differences between Web 1.0 & Web 2.0. The first one with advergirl I thought explained it pretty good. The visuals and the breakdown worked well for me. I still was a bit confused, but the video really helped me with the full grasp and difference of Web 1.0 & Web 2.0.
The benefits of web 1.0 are like most sites they are all informational and they are specific to your need. I don't really see any drawbacks other then not being interactive. Benefits of web 2.o is definetly the vast up-to-date information. If you just need to get information right away. A drawback I think on the educator side would be if you didn't provide guidance to your students if you were using a certain platform
